SMH on ecospecifier:

The website, highly commended in last month’s Year of the Built Environment National Awards, lists more than 1000 building products and materials that meet one or more criteria entitling them to be called an ‘environmentally preferable’ and/or ‘healthy product’.

Excellent – this is something that has been missing for some time, and something I (along with Marc from NETaccounts) have thought about in the past.

We need a consumer focussed version as well (products that we can buy). Also, there is room, I think, to develop these kind of sites into a true community site with forums attached to products (so that people that have used the product can provide feedback and tips) and a community-driven ratings system.
