This means that the environmental or post-environmental movement that will speak to my community must first and foremost promise economic development and better quality of life.
Interesting point. I went to a talk the other night at Gleebooks addressing some of the issues facing the environmental movement in creating a new agenda. (I hope to post a more thorough review of the talk soon) Much of what the speakers talked about revolved around the need to marry economic, social and environmental solutions together.
Certainly I think there is a growing point of view that all three are largely inseparable. Hopefully this view will continue to develop.
