Stuff

Lot’s going on at work – and I feel like I’ve got stuff to say, but haven’t really had time to write it up of late. Some quick notes.

We’re going to be testing Drupal as the CMS for WWF. As a system designer/software architect I’m not a huge fan of it, but it gives us a bunch of stuff out of the box that would require a lot of pain and effort to build from scratch. And, in the end, I think it’s more a case of not letting “perfectionism” get in the way of getting the job done. Jeremy from GreenAsh will be helping us out getting the system up and running. I have a lot more to write about this whole thing (the CMS has required a lot of head-miles the past few weeks), but that’ll have to wait for another time…

We’ve also asked Leonard from Aurum3 to put together some designs for the website and HTML email template. I’m a terribly fickle bastard when it comes to designs (even when I do them myself), but I feel confident that Leonard will be able to put something together that pleases me 😉 After much searching for standards-savvy designers in Australia (using Google), I found Aurum3 through CSS Vault – I shoulda checked there first.

On the music front not a lot’s been happening. Toby is pre-disposed for a few weeks and work has pretty much chewed up most of my time anyway. But we do have about half a dozen songs in underway, and hopefully it won’t be too long before we can put a demo of some description together.

Anyways, that’s enough for now. Hopefully I’ll have more to report over the next week or so…
