Iraq death toll

Today, IraqBodyCount indicates that the number of deaths in Iraq has hit 2706. This is just under 100 people less than the WTC attacks (Source) which finalised at 2801.

The Iraq death toll does not include those seriously injured, those who lost limbs or are otherwise permanently physically affected by the bombing. It does not include the emotional trauma that children and adults alike face as a result of the war (remember all the news items on the dramatic rise in post-traumatic stress syndrome after 9/11/2001?).

All this caused by a military mobilisation that is in conflict with international law. An aggressive act perpetrated by the world’s largest economic and military power on a (relatively) defensless population.

It’s a crazy f&*@ed up world we live in.
